Well, I knew that there was struts to be done, and possibly a TPS.
This was followed by a check engine light, yesterday. A quick run to a service station yielded these results:
1 injector going bad. Replace all for $1500.
Transmission going bad. Replace for $2700.
My current estimated bill, if I go through the jackholes at the service station, a lowly $5800.
Woot. And I only have $700 into the car. DSMs are awesome, no?
So, as crappy as that all went, there is a crooked rainbow at the end of the tunnel.
I had my body kit on craigslist, looking for trades for stock parts. Wanted to get rid of my chrome taillights too. Ghastly.
Got contacted by a great guy named Chad, who was wanting to trade his stock side skirts, front and rear bumper from a 1999, for only my blitz side skirts.
After some negotiation, and him having to travel 100 miles, the deal worked out like this:
I gave him 20$ for his gas, my side skirts, and two Chuck E Cheese gift cards (got for free) to use on his kid.
He gave me his front and rear bumpers, and is sending me his stock taillights.
So essentially, front and rear bumper, and taillights, for $20. The front bumper isn't much to look at. Cracked in several places....but it's good enough to throw on my car in the meantime, and the rear is in excellent condition.
Now I just need to find someone who wants my blitz rear, and see what I can trade for that....
The saga continues....
