Okay, first time post. Balance shaft belt took out my timing belt at 45mph 1200 rpms. Destroyed intake valves and hit the pistons. Replace them or fix'em?

Pull the pistons out and see if the rings will still rotate in the ring lands. If that is all good, check the dempels to make sure the valves didn't crack the piston. If that checks out ok, dremel any sharp area's where the valves touched the piston tops and you could re-use them. A lot of us have after a situation like you had. I had a similar thing happen over 5 years ago and am just now getting that all back together, so don't take that long like I did. :thumb:

The guys in the shop are trying to talk me into forged pistons but I'm only planning on 350-400 BHP and think they might be over kill. Plus I don't wanna have to wait for the pistons to heat up every time I want to head out.

Forged is nice but you don't have to have them if the originals are still in useable shape. Over 400hp, forged is insurance. It will be YOUR decision but you can listen to the shop and then let us know what/why they say. Just make dam sure the pistons are still ok, they are pretty thick in the top.
FYI, you can drive forged pistons. I don't "wait" to go for drive. I start the car, let the oil pressure build and temp start to move and I am on the roll.

Update. valve guides aren't cracked and the seats seem to be intact. But the valves bruh.....
