Hey guys, newb here!!! I'm new to the DSM world, but no where near new to cars or imports. Anyways, enough about me- I'll do an intro thread later on today.

My recently acquired 98 GS-T got a small but considerable amount of damage from Hurricane Jeanne. I got a nice big fat check from the insurance company, and am taking the car to a reputable shop next week for an estimate. I am replacing the front bumper cover, both headlights, both door handles, the sunroof seal and both a-pillar drip rails- and of course a complete repair and refinish on the entire car.

Can anybody make suggestions as to anything I am missing, or things that I should think about doing in addition? Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated by this newb! ;)

shave the antenna, and also shave off the rear window wiper. That saves weight and looks good!

Yeah a whopping 4 lbs

Thanks for the suggestion, but I wanna keep the body stock. One day suspension and rims, but that's about it in the looks department. I was actually trying to find out if I should replace anything else that is prone to breaking, wear, etc.

And btw, here is the GS-T, next to the MR2. And you can ignore the hardly visible image of my wife's car in the background...it was totalled due to Hurricane Jeanne anyways, and no longer ours.

well, it has been my experience that pretty much everything on a eclipse breaks.

and removing the antenna and wiper would not change the stock body, it wouldnt change the body lines. If you had to repaint the car anyway, this would not be such a large undertaking.

and I do believe that if you weighed the wiper, wiper motor, tubing, wiring, and the massive fluid tank in the trunk (full of liquid), the antenna, antenna motor, and wiring, it would come to more than 4lbs.
