I just installed a new OEM engine mount on a 420a and it still moves back and forth? I torqued it down and used all the original bolts. It makes no sense. And I know it's that mount which is loose because I can clearly see it move back and forth. Anyone else ever ran into this?

You could have issues with more than one mount. If you replaced the front mount and your rear mount is shot, it will cause the motor to move back and forth until both are replaced. They do flex a lot so if you have one good and one bad it would be noticeable.

Its a rubber mount, it will flex some, its quite normal :)
Good to know. Thanks.

I'll have a look around, I have a hunch it's the one right below the intake manifold.

+1 I had this issue with my Spyder. The front motor mount (roll stop) kept busting. Even with a brand new mount I could rock the engine by hand. It wasn't till my 3rd front roll stop that I realized the back rollstop was missing the bolt. The engine has never been more solid.

Moral of the story, check the rear. It's a huge PITA to get to, but it's better than busting a new mount.

If you're going to replace the rear it would also be a good time to get a nice poly insert instead of the factory mount. We used to run a poly in the back (under intake) and factory in the front for our street car. It was too harsh with both front and rear poly mounts, but a solid poly rear and stock front was perfect.

Do you know a site where I can buy one individually? So far everywhere that I've looked sells them in sets.
