Hi all! I have a few questions to ask about my exhaust. I really want a nicer sounding exhaust, it's stock and quiet and honestly sounds horrible I think. Could anyone help me on what I'm going to have to do to replace it? And maybe some good cheap ones to look at? Thanks!

Well you have the down pipe, cat and cat back. Cat back changes most of the piping. Go with at least 2.5". I have a full 3" down pipe back thermal engineering exhaust and sounds amazing. Very deep not ricer. Be careful on how cheap you go. Cheap fart can sound worse then plane stock in my opinion. Search for a used exhaust for cheap but you tube the type of exhaust to get a rough sound. NO EBAY exhaust please. Good luck

Thank you, but I'm mainly looking for just the muffler though, not a cat back, and I've been looking at some mufflers and it says inlet and outlet size, does anyone know the size i need to get for those? it's all stock, thanks in advance!

I know I should, but for now I just want something cheap, and figured a muffler is something I could tackle by myself

If you're absolutely certain you'll never want to upgrade then you can go w/ a 2.25'' inlet/outlet since that's pretty close to stock pipe diameter, however, you can just as easily get a 2.5'' inlet/outlet since most muffler shops should have no problem welding it to your stock piping.

If you've never welded before I'd simply take it to a muffler shop... Depending on the shop, it shouldn't be too expensive. If doing it yourself, you'd need some additional parts anyways like hangers... and depending on what size you get, adapters for your stock piping.

Should be ok, however, if that's all you want, I bet there's cheaper options there on ebay. Please keep in mind though, there appears to be quite a bit of debate on out there concerning stock pipe diameter... Some say 2'' & some say 2.25'' but for sure the stock diameter is no larger than 2.25''

main difference between the two is that this cherrybomb will be about 3.25'' longer in length. as far as sound... i think there was someone on here that was discussing the cherrybomb... just gotta search... I basically view cherrybombs as big long resonators since they're simply a straight-through baffled pipe. I've heard the on an old 68 mustang... sounded good but that was coming from a 302 v8...

I'd get the 2.5'' offering, take it to a muffler shop, have them do 2.5'' catback piping, and enjoy a decent super budget-friendly catback exhaust for less than $200
