I think he wants new car. I don't blame him these car are for die hards.

I was NEVER dissing the kid!!!!!! I know he's a good kid but he's 17 he really doesn't know what he wants. I have a cousin around the same age and he always dreaming about doing this and that and I try to keep him grounded as best I can. Roderick has a good job and still lives with mom and dad so getting a WRX is in his reach!

Yes these cars can be sensitive BUT you have to pick a good base car to start with so you don't land up with junk. There are alot of clean DSMs out there for the picking you just got to hold out for the right one.

True, his DSM needs a little work but it is a good base car. No knock or any major problams.

Very very true he does have a good core car!! I like his car. Man some of the DSMs out there are in really bad shape and sometimes people just grap the first one that pops up and land up buying a POS!! I got real lucky with mine. Can't wait to see yours.

I was just plan lucky when I stumbbled on mine. I had been looking at DSMs for a year before I found mine.

After I sealed up the engine the 14YO turbo couldn't handle it(the broken vac line didn't help). All I neeed is a little paint job or new CF hood w/ paint and clean up the door dings and I'll have a pretty clean DSM.

I want to replace everything for peace of mind Big breaks, 4bolt, carrier bearings, maybe rebuild the tranny(shep) I don't want to exceed 350hp for now.

I know what you mean about fixing the little things. I just want a solid car don't really care if its the fastest I always have Johns car for that ... 350hp takes ALOT of money to get there, thats probably where Johns at give or take more when he gets his tunning dialed in.
After spending a year building Johns we found out the little things like going back over EVERYTHING, double checking everything will take care of some of the little things. Double check it all, timing, idle,hose clamps,intake pressure testing for leaks. Thats the stuff that will sound out your car.

Can't find a CF hood for the 90s with the pop up cut out, only seen them for 92 and up. When you get one see if they will give you a deal on 2 and I 'll get one.

I haven't looked into the CF thing yet. But i do need to lighten up that hood, my hood is really heavy for some reason.


I found a CAS with little miles on it for cheep.

Hey fellas, I just stumbled on this thread. I'm in ABQ located on the westside (coors and ladera). I've been out to the dragstrip about 3-4 times running my 2G AWD but have not really seen too many DSMs out there. Of course, my timing is probably bad. Definitely will make it a point to come out the the next gathering to meet everyone. Somebody please post DSMer track results from the Import drag war happening 7/23 as I will not make it out there My car is ready to go but it will have to be another weekend.

Yes thats John with the black Laser. We did some tunning on the car yesterday so it running real good I also hope it doesn't rain. Either way we are heading up there weather we run the cars or not.

Stupid me (Plus i did all the work alone no help) when I installed my head i installed the CAS 180 degrees out of rotation thats why I need a new one. oh well live and learn.

I Just recived it just now, I installed it and that was indeed the problam. NOW my battery is dying from sitting there. Do you have any battery conections so I can get one today maybe?

I have a battery charger but I dont think that will help. My battery is between 8.8 and 9.0 volts
