New install no crank

Ok so I got my engine installed and primed the oil pump etc.
it wont turn over I get just a click. I have checked the starter wiring and the ground cables. They all are tight and on correctly. I am just wondering the head I had purchased with my long block didn't have a CAS on it. I installed the one off my old engine. Would this have anything to do with it.
Just wondering what else could cause it to not crank it just clicks. I know the starter is good and I think it electrical if that is possible.

Is your battery fully charged? Click could mean a bad solenoid on starter or simply not enough voltage to your starter. Double check your grounds again and make sure you have enough power on battery if you have a multimeter. Then you can go from there. I believe the only signal you need to crank is ignition switch and power to starter. CAS issues I believe should still let you crank at least.

Will still turn over with a bad CAS, just wont fire so that isn't the cause of this (trust me, I've had 2 different eclipses have bad CAS )

Definitely make sure your batt is fully charged. And then go from there.

try to turn the engine by hand and if it doesn't then you have other problems

I will check all the electrical stuff again tomorrow then if that fails I will check to see if I can turn it by hand So far owned a DSM for 3 months only drove it for 135miles

You're doing good then! I had mine over a year before I even drove it . Granted I was living in Connecticut and left it here for 8 months of that, and then it sat in a shop that was full of idiots for 3 months after I was back, and I knew /nothing/ about working on cars then... But still haha.

So I pulled the starter and tested it when I hit the key the little gear pops out but does not spin is this common. I am going to take it in to have it tested later today. Wondering if I am wasting my time?
