New head gasket now car seems like timing is off

Just replaced the head gasket on my 95 gst now it seems like timing is off but all marks are lined up anyone know what might cause this?

Was not aware of marks on the valve cover and the symptoms are sputtering shaky engine car won't drive with out jerking

went out to look and i noticed something was in the back side of my intake cam gear it was part of the cam sensor so in a way im pretty sure you helped me fix this just got to get new sensor and find out

replaced the sensor and cant even get it to fire now

The timing marks can line up to the naked eye, but the cams need to be lined up with the slant of the head. There's a special tool you can look up, it goes in between the cams to lock them in place. (where they should be). I had this problem and it was a tooth off. Shitty idle.

Its made by AMS for $50 plus shipping. also do u have the tool to adjust the idler pulley? all of it will look like its lined up but if its not done right it will idle rough and not run right. and ## cams will still be aligned but the cam/crank will be off.
