Hey there everyone! Glad to finally have a dsm to hold onto long enough to justify joining the forum (had a 96 tsi awd that was a nightmare)
I bought my gst from a guy in Minnesota, had a decent list of aftermarkets for me to work off of. When I bought it the car needed a new clutch Master, and It was giving maybe 6 lbs of boost. I replace it and Now It shifts great and for some reason I'm getting around 16lbs on an evo 3 16g. Not complaining.
Since then however my idle has been weird, randomly seems to climb to 2-2.5k. In addition to that sometimes when shifting to neutral while driving the engine stalls. The throttle is really jumpy too.
When I hit positive boost black smoke comes out of my tailpipe and when I get to around 16psi either the fuel line cuts or it starts backfiring, I honestly can't tell. I'm also eating gas like crazy and I can smell something funky, either gas or exhaust when I hit boost. This leads me to believe I'm running super rich, and I have some larger fuel injectors that I've been hesitant to install for fear of making the problem worse.
