heres the deal, i somehow blew out my engine which is fine i wanted to build one or get a new one anyways. heres my ? should i go with a 6bolt block and build it up or is it possible to do an evo 3 swap(like drop in) or what work would it take? and on the 6bolt build can someone tell me what i would need, like part wise?

the 6 bolt build will depend on what your goals and budget is.

how much HP you looking to make? what is the cash your looking to spend?

i really dont wana spend more than 2500 i found a block for 100 and im looking for anywhere from 250-350hp if you look at my other post u can see what i have put into it and do you know about an evo 3 swap like would it be a drop in or more work?

If you choose to go the route of the 6-bolt block, a stock rebuild with 2g pistons on 1g rods and ARP rod bolts would be more than sufficent for your power goals. I would reuse your 2g head and have the stud holes enlarged by the shop that checks the head over and makes any repairs you need. Any of the available head gaskets would work for your application, if cost is an issue, the composite is proven to be very robust in a variety of situations.

As far as installing the 6-bolt into your 2g, you will need to trim the motormount for water pump clearance, use a 1g timming tensioner arm and decide if you are going to do a 1g CAS or a Kiggly crank sensor. I would personally go with the Kiggly kit as there is no splicing of wires and a much reduced chance of a random missfire code being thrown.

Thank you guys for the imput, can someon please give me a list of everything that would have to go In to building a 6bolt? I don't need brand names or anything just a list like rods cams all that stuff thank you:)

Honestly, save some money and rebuild the 7-bolt. If they are done right with the right internals, they are just as strong. The problem with all these supposed crank walked 7-bolts, is by the time people buy them, the motor has already had a ton of miles put on it. Then we get it and slap a bigger turbo and bigger injectors and we're off to the races. The bloody engine is plum tuckered out. Imagine if you take your engine you killed, and bring it back to life with some new internals. Just my 2 cents. :)
