So I'm really in dire need of a car, and I was brought here by Denozzo. Late this summer he got a 95 TSi AWD and has been bugging me to get a DSM, but lately he is thinking he has crankwalk. I quite frankly, don't want to buy a car for 3-5 grand and find out that the motor is crap and I need to spend 1-1.5K into getting a new motor.

So I found this-

89 CRX-Si

5spd, 196k, 1 owner 19 yrs, typ. rust, exc. int, no wrecks, radio is junk, ac needs charge, extra rims+Blizzaks, no mods, extras. $1000

Any input?

crankwalk is very over-rated/played out. I still may have it. But eh, my car is still running strong. If it breaks, then i'll buy a 6 bolt. I'm not giving up on my car.

Why not look for a 1g dsm?

I had a 88 CRX Si with more miles and it had pretty good pull. Its a Honda, which means if you take care of it and don't dog on it too much, it will serve you well as a DD. Just make sure all the maintenance was kept up on it before and you'll be good to go as long as you keep it a DD. Fun car, that's why I have another 88 CRX with a swap as my weekend car.

Especially for $1000 bucks, that's a real good price. AC charging isn't too bad and as long as the rust isn't bad, I'd pick it up. Good luck on your choice

I dont like crx hatch backs.
What type of engine does it have a b18?
If I was going to buy a honda it would be a accord.

EDM if it's stock it should have a D16Y7 motor in it. A 1.6 SOHC similar to the motor used in the newer Civic's without the VTEC except its way more aggressive.

I wiki'd it and it said "The Si ("Sports injected") model with the 16-valve 1590 cc "D16A6" engine"

So I guess not, but B18's would be somewhat cheap because it's a Honda....right?
