new engine gaskets

well i just got a new engine from kar king its just a long block. my question is what gaskets and misc parts am i going to need for putting the engine back into my car smoothly and any tips with doing it

Depends how much you are going to have to transfer. I would just get a full engine kit and turbo kit( if they are sperate). That kit should have everything and more. Its better(and most of the time cheaper) to just get a total kit instead of seperate gaskets. Plus sometimes the full kits have gaskets that you can't get seperate. Good luck.

well i have to transfer everthing but the shortblock and the heads and were do i get a kit do they have them at autozone or do i have to order them

You'll need both manifold gaskets, turbo gaskets, throttlebody gaskets, and O2 housing gaskets. You might need new studs for the exhaust manifold and the O2 to downpipe depending how good of condition they were in when you took them off or if your longblock didn't come with them. Maybe even the stud/bolts on the turbo. You'll also need the crush washers and gaskets for the turbo's oil and cooling lines. I'd even go as far as to replace all the cooling hoses if they are kinda of old and getting hard or mushy. Use new clamps if the old ones are just the spring kind. It is a good idea to check and replace all vacuum lines too.

As for dropping the engine back in, an engine hoist and a second pair of hands from a buddy should make everything go pretty smooth. Also check the condition of the motor mounts while your at it.

Since you are transferring you'll probably need new O-rings for the injectors and fuel rail connections if you took them off.

I got all new gaskets from MachV in a set for under $300 that came with everything I needed.

I'd get the OEM gaskets instead of the cheap stuff. It's better to do it right the first time instead of having to fix something twice.

It is in the Engine Overhaul Gaskets. Has the full set or just the head.
