New DP, now building boost out of gear.

I just put in my 3 in DP that replaced the cat last night. I am loving the sound and i can really feel a diffrence in top end. Also i got an added bonus of being able to build full boost out of gear!!! woot!! It is like getting a free Anti-Lag system. My question is, This will not hurt anything will it?

Check your wastegate. Make sure its properly connected .

And how much can you build up...

No car is 5 speed and i get get to 10 psi.

its building 10psi free-revving in neutral? Is this what youre saying? Impossible for a downpipe to do.

Is this showing on the stock gauge or aftermarket?

Aftermarket boost guage. Last night before i put on the DP it is normal. Then DP install and it's doing it. I know its wierd and the turbo is only supposed to build boost under a load.

Strange, maybe you nocked off a wastegate line when you installed the dp. But anywho i dont think building boost out of gear is going to hurt anything at all. You don't have a studder box right?

Nope, I find it wierd as hell too. The WGA is still intact and on the lever. I only found out it was doing this because i put the DP on and i was revving to hear the beautiful sound when i noticed i was building boost! Strange........

That's what mine is doing.6-7 psi free reving.3 inch down pipe/exhaust no cat.
