i just bought a 97 awd turbo talon..the guy i bought it off of upgraded the fuel pump to a walbro 225 i think..he also installed an evoIII 16g turbo, and a manual boost controller.. he said that he has the boost turned down because stock 2g dsm bov's leak boost with a bigger turbo..im new to dsm im a die hard honda guy. my question is was this kid tellin the truth? or is there somthing wrong with my car.. i have a 1g bov im gonna be putting in in the next few days, will this solve my problem? i turned my boost up and it only hits like 10 or 11 and then at higher rpms it droppes to 8psi..is the bov causing it? thanks for the help in advance.

Sorry to hear about the whole honda thing. ROFL Yes 1G BOV will solve your problems. Is it crushed?

i have no idea what that means.. i was reading about it but i dont really get it..is there pictures to show how do to it or what it looks like? and hahaha on the honda thing..cant beat the reliablitly..LOL

yea you can its called a chevrolet my corsica i have put through hell and still going strong

LOLoLOLooLOLoLOLol and my freinds honda just blew up so i think the corsica is better

Alright. Enough making fun of the honda guy. I have never crushed a 1G BOV before so I am not sure on the best way to do it. But when you crush it it allows you to run more boost without leaking. I am by no means a pro at this stuff, I am still new to DSM's and turbo cars. But try using the search button at the top and you will find what you want.

LOL i did the same thing to my old corsica and it was still going at 180k when it was junked due to alot of consmetic issues LOL

thanks for your help i will check it out tomorrow.

O dude my corsica has a DICK on the hood and has VTEC painted on the valve cover LOL

my corsica has dents all over the place

i love my corsica and there is a corsica street racing page look it up

Yes a 1g bov will solve your problem. The stock 2g bov leaks which is causing your boost issues. There is no need to crush the bov, done with a vice i believe, unless you plan on running alot of boost. Not sure of the numbers, but I think you should be good uncrushed until about 20psi or so.

thanks guys..im gonna have my brother make me a flange to connect the 1g to the 2g piping..he works with metal and he will hook me up with somthing..then i will seal it with high heat silicone..and im gonna use the rubber gromet thing thats in the stock plastic bov..

You can crush it or........

Also, you may need a AFPR for that 255
Good luck,

Tom

Yes! You NEEED an AFPR!!! That or put a stock puel pump back in. All the extra fuel will kill your motor!!
With the 255, the fpr can't bypass enough fuel back to the tank to keep the fuel pressure where it needs to be. This causes the pressure in the fuel rail to go up which means the injectors will be spraying more fuel than they are supposed to. This extra fuel will wash down the cylinder walls and eventually contaminate the piston rings. There is where the fuel pump does its damage.

Make sure you upgrade the injectors before running more boost too, along with a tuning device.

My girlfriend's little sister's first car was a '95 Corsica V6. The damn thing refused to die.

The intake manifold gaskets literally dumped coolant into the crankcase for about 10k miles. The oil was white, I continued to change it at the normal 3k interval. A few times she literally ran it OUT of coolant and drove it as far as 100 miles away from home with the temp gauge PEGGED on hot.....still didn't die. When you'd start it up, it knocked like all the rods were ready to blow through the block, but once it warmed up (and when it had fresh oil) the car didn't knock.

It was ugly, it was crude, but it made the perfect first car for her.

She now owns an '05 Kia Spectra SX....I want to turbo it in the worst way!

afpr... means aftermarket fuel pressure regulator? i am new to boost and dont know much about dsm.. i just wanna boost like 14psi...they are 12 stock right.. will i be ok with 14psi without modding my injectors???

14 PSI is fine. The stock fuel system should be able to handle 16 PSI. AFPR means adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

If he is only going to be running 14 PSI he doesn't have to crush it.

my bad i skipped over a post there, but yea above post is right
