Is a car i'm looking at picking up to make some extra cash. Now I got the price down to a point where i could still make 100-200 bucks selling it just as is. However if i could fix the knock easy i could make quite a bit more.

I'm a little familiar with knock. But he says it's the head? I can get a new head for 150 from a local guy i know so that wouldn't be to bad or big of a job. I've done a few head swaps and T-belt jobs so i'm comfortable with that.

I'm just trying to find out a little more about knock in the simplist of terms. I thought it was something on the lower end of the block not the head? Just looking to get some clarification before i buy. Also what should i look/listen for that would be a BIG pain in the ass?

Yeah, however he just said that it only happens when the clutch is depressed...but if you cruise at 3500rpm with the clutch not actuated it doesn't make the noise...

Yeah if that's the only problem i'm golden...what else should i look for though just to make sure that's it? I can't exactly drop the oil pan to check for shavings...

I had a similar problem like the guy above said check the oil pan I recently spun a rod bearing but before I took it apart I took it to a shop and they too said it was in the head but I found out the truth when I tore it all apart so its kind of a gamble ### you never know what is completely messed up till u pull all of it apart

Yeah, well sadly the guy sold out from under me when i was on my way down to buy...oh well. There will be another.

Hah, i went to go check it out for shits and giggles from the new owner...yeah it's got quite a problem. Not worth 1200 for the shape of that thing.

Thanks guys!
