With OEM sheetmetal gone, and with aftermarket sheetmetal missing in action, does anyone have any inside information if we'll ever see replacement metal back on the market? Right now you stand a better chance of finding 1G metal, and naturally 3G parts are in plentiful supply.

I can't find a trace of 2G fenders in Partslink or other past sources. Examples of part numbers for a left fender are OEM MB959373, MI1240132 Partslink, and PMB10029AL or MB10028AL from Taiwan.

I have found that steel 2G fenders, both OEM and aftermarket, can be very difficult to find as new old stock. I don't know if or when replacements will be made. :idontknow:

That said, Rock Auto does show one left aftermarket fender in stock with the air dam hole (replacement for OEM part MB959375) at manufacturer closeout pricing. I'm kind of surprised it hasn't been snatched up yet. Part number is MI1240131. Here is a link: Rock Auto: MI1240131.

If you miss out on that one, you might have to consider a used fender from an auto recycler or a partout, or an aftermarket fender constructed from a different material. I personally scored a steel fender on eBay not too long ago, so it might be worth looking there from time to time. Another place to look is in the DSM Tuners' classifieds.

In case it helps, here are all of the OEM part numbers:

Without air dam/side skirt hole pre-drilled:
Left fender: MB959373
Right fender: MB959374

With air dam/side skirt hole pre-drilled:
Left fender: MB959375
Right fender: MB959376

Good luck with your search!

Thanks for the post, SS. I considered that part but since Rock is so hard to deal with and the cost to deliver so high, gave it up.
