hey everyone my 2.0 shit out on me so i got a 2.4l built shortblock. Now i know i need to upgrade my injectors and fuel pump but for now i cant. I am stuck with the stock fuel pump on my 2.4l with an evo 3 16g. Now my question is can i run the same amount of boost (14) on my evo 3 16g with the 2.4l or do i need to turn the boost down a bit to free up more fuel for the added displacement. Engine is going into the car this weekend so i would love to have some information on what i am able to do. Car was boosting just under 1 bar (14.7) on the prior system tell it developed a knock and seized up.

If I were you I would turn the boost down until you have some kind of way to log. If you are logging allready feel free to turn the boost up until the point you are afraid getting knock.

If you don't have a way to tune the car, chances are it won't run properly. I didn't see anything in your profile regarding datalogging or tuning. You're adding 20% more displacement which is going to mess with the ECU.

A 2.3L stroker will run on stock fuel I see no reason why a 2.4 will not. You just need to adjust boost levels accordingly. Best thing you can do is be careful with boost. IMO if you can I would hook up the stock BCS and make sure your wastegate actuator is working properly before the breakin cycle.

Im ###### just gonna turn the boost all the way down on the boost controller. I am getting link, 1000cc injectors and a rewired 190 in under a month. Ill gradually turn up the boost and if i hit fuel cut i will back the boost off about a psi and a half.

You should keep it turned down anyways for the break in period.. which will give you time to get the stuff you need.

I know it sounds like a broken record-but you really need some way to log. You need to know what's going on inside that motor. You've already lost a motor due to knock. One way to tell if you are out of injectors is by seeing injector duty. Logging would allow you to do that and it's cheap to get set up with.

Dont do it like that. Oh I will just wait until I hit fuel cut. If your hitting fuel cut something is wrong. You need to be able to log. If you can log your injector duty cycles, wideband O2, and knock you can prevent your motor from be coming a pile of scrap metal.

idk im gonna follow slowboy racings policy for break in so that i insure there work. Im also breaking down and ordering link and injectors right now. Im gonna go with 780s

now im in a crunch with money, should i just go all out and get link and the 780s or should i save over 200 dollars and get an safc and 650s

not sure yet, he said once the engine is in the car to call him and he will go over everything with me. Do you think i should just get link for the time being so that i can monitor everything. Or should i go all out and get fuel while im at it

i plan on upgrading to a 20g in the future anyway, only thing im hesitant about is that i just paid off my credit cards and am about to put 700 dollars right back onto it haha.

now i would be doing this all on the stock sidemount. I know ill need to upgrade in the near future but i cant do that right now. Will i be fine on the sidemount for the time being

quick question on intercooler install on my car. Ive got the power steering cooler and i am wondering what do i do with it. I heard that you can cut it and loop it but is there a way to bend it carefully and retain the cooler line?
