Last week, the engine temp was a little high. So I checked everything out and found out the radiator fan wasn't working. So I put my A/C fan back in and used the A/C button to opperate the A/C fan. I took a friend to school this morning and the engine temps were a little higher than normal. Popped the hood and noticed the A/C fan wasn't on and the switch was on.

It doesn't make any sense at all. I check the fans everytime I get out of the car before I turn off the engine. A couple days ago, both fans were on when I checked. Before that, it was only the A/C fan. Now neither are working. Any ideas? I checked all the relays, wires, etc. and everything looks fine. Even swapped out some relays.

I havent gotten too in depth with the cooling system on my car...all I did was swap in a blackworks radiator and some mishimoto fans and hoses...so I may be off the mark on this...is there any possibility that the car uses a thermostatic fan controller? and if so...have you checked that to make sure it's not toast?

One of the sensor's on the thermostat housing is a temp sensor that is used to kick the fans on.It went bad on me once and mine wouldn't turn on.Check it out!

^This! that's exactly what I'm talking about.

and to the other guy...he posted in his original comment that he's checked all the wiring and fuses and swapped out the relays.

sometimes things are wired wierd...again...I dont know tons about the cooling system on these cars...but it just seemed worth a shot to check that first...isnt the a/c fan inside the dash btw? I could be wrong but I dont believe the a/c draws it's air from the engine cooling system fans...none the less...in my car one fan runs constantly...as soon as I turn the key on...whoever did the wiring before I got the car must have hard wired it to an ignition relay...the other fan kicks on and off as the operating temperature changes.

Well they have been working so far the passed few days. I dont know why they decided not to work the other day. There are two fans on the A/C. One for the radiator, and the other for the A/C. The fan on the drivers side is the A/C fan. I thought it was supposed to be on whenever the A/C switch is on? But it usually isn't. Until the car warms up. Then they both come on.

I think the wiring is messed up somewhere. But everywhere I have looked, everything looks fine.
