Need Wheel/Tire Help

So I found a deal on some 18's. They are 18X9 with +28 offset according to the guy selling them. He said he had them on his 95 GST (same car as mine) and they fit perfect with 235/40/18 tires on there. He has them on his Evo now and he said he had to install 7 mm spacers in the front.

I want these wheels to fit fine without sticking out. Will these wheels fit fine and what size tires are recommended? I somehow don't believe this guy completely.

I don't mean to bump my thread but damn I need to get them today. Anyone? What about 245/45/18 tires, I can get those for really cheap.
