Need to lower my 2G with some new rims, any suggestions plz plz

I am planing to get these new rims with (245/40/18) tires. My friends always told me that my 99 eclipse RS is too high. So I need to lower it. I live in Michigan so there is snow and alot of rain. I want to get some coilovers, but now sure which ones are good quality. On Ebay there s alot of cheap one, they are poor quality, right??? If I need to lower, I do need some new strusts right?? Plus I need camber kits too, right?? Would I be able to install all the parts by myself??? if so plz send me some installation guides.

Plz tell me any suggestions you guys have and tell me what u think of the rims. Thanks alot.

#1 -non performance section is the forum you want

#2 -I have a feeling looking at your question wording/understanding,,,you are gonna rub like no other w/ the 245/40/18's.

#3 - For coilovers, A basic thing I say is get properly spring rated ground controls OR better. No ebay specials.

#4 EVERYTIME you change the ride height of your car by using coilovers you have to get a 4 wheel alignment. $$$

#5 -IMO, the rims are ugly

#6 - If you do a "moderate" lowering (1.5 inch or less), you can just use the Vfaq 15$ bolt camber kit for the rear.

which won't fit well on FWD/AWD cars w/ our typical positive offsets.....

there are some positive offset rims w/ a bit of a dish, but no big RWD type dish if thats what you're looking for.

there are other options for a dish, that dont look like wheelmax rims. you can check my profile for some pics.

And those rims are far to common, get something a little more original, maybe even something that the civic guys dont use so frequently.

wow, those are some nice looking rims. Where did you get those??

they are Axis Se7en Mod rims with the Maxis lip in the back. I got them from a online store www.spyeng.com They were pretty nice over the phone, and their shipping was pretty fast, they even worked with me on tires.

But they cost a mad grip. Possibly 2 grips if you white knuckle it.

I am just trying to illustrate that there are alot of different rims out there, search by manufacturer, and please stay away from wheelmax, i have had so many friends get crappy quality rims that look good from 10 ft, and are 20lb 17" rims. Just get a lighter rim, or get a stronger rim.

weight does not equal strength.

I obviously went for looks, and should be flamed for it. But I make up for it by having some of the sexiest looking rims in town.
