Need Suggestions On Wheels For My 1G

they look pretty good on this 1g now the question would be go 17x9 or 17x8 the car in the picture is running 17x9 +45 (effective offset of +40F/+37R with spacers)

EVO wheels are too heavy and common, though they do look good on DSMs, and RPF1s are about the worst brake caliper clearance of any wheel I've ever seen if you ever plan on getting bigger brakes. Also note that the 17x8 RPF1s have a curved spoke that looks way different than the 17x9s in that pic. The 9" looks way nicer.

I'm running a 17x8" +48 wheel and it just barely clears the rear trailing arm and front strut with a 245/40. Anything bigger with a +40 or higher offset and you're most likely going to have to grind the trailing arms in back and run coilovers up front to clear. Anything less than a +40 and it'll stick out unless you run a lot of camber.

Best looking wheels I've seen on a 1g were enkei rf1's, but they are no longer made, and hard to find.

Pretty good thread for me to stumble upon since I'll be in the market for wheel on my white 1Ga. Maybe OP I should steer you away from the Enkei's since they will look better on my car

I do say either the Rotas of The Enkei's look very clean on the 1G. So hard to get the right wheel for our cars. A faced rim looks like crap and its hard to get something with a good looking dish on it.

I really like the look of the 5 spoke wheels in post #6. Too big and they get heavy (less unsprung weight is better for handling and acceleration). Big wheels look ridiculous on cars with small stock brake rotors.

I think they would look bad@$$ but that is my opinion. I think it would look good black with the chrome lip Another sweet rim I like ASA AR1. Do what you like its your car.

Imo Motegi has some nice rims that would look good. I'm looking at putting set on my 92 Talon awd.

take a look into XXR527's. They are a good looking wheel for a fairly cheap price, they are also quite light. I have a set of 17x9.75's on my 240 and I am very impressed and pleased with them.

I got my Enkei's RPF1's from Summit. 17x8 on a 35mm offset with a 225/45R17 and have plenty of clearance for rim and tire. Same setup as my avatar. I am lowered a bit on Megan coilovers too.
