need stereo code.

so when i got the car it didnt come with the card that has the stereo code and im trying to give my stock stereo to my budy who needs one on his 2g.

i went to dealership but they asked like 50 bucks so i was wondering if theres anyone here who could help me find the code. someone who has a hook up at a dealer or something i would appreciate it a lot seem how my buddy dont know im giving him the stereo and amp

I had one stock radio that had the code on a sticker on the back of it. But any time I need to get a code for the stereo I just call the dealer and tell them the VIN of the car it came out of. I don't have a hook up at any dealer or anything they just tell me for free. $50 for some information is absolutely ridiculous. If someone is trying to charge you for telling you the code I think I'd ask to speak to the manager. You could try calling a different mitsu dealer but they should tell you. Like I said just have the VIN of the car the radio came out of handy. Good luck.

Gotcha. Yeah sorry for not being very helpful in my response. Try the dealer again and hopefully you'll get someone who can actually help you. But if they are still being douche bags about it you could pm me the VIN of the car and I'll call the dealer I usually call here and get the code. That is if you are comfortable with that. t5he best thing to do when you call the dealer, just think of a shop near you, and tell them " yea, this is XXX from hilltop garage, and i changed a battery in the car and now my boss is flippi'n cause i can't get the radio to work" " can you guys' help me out/." i have been told that i had to pay also for the code, until i started to use this line. it has worked ever since

im so gana try it and see if it works thanx for the idea ill keep yall posted.

ok so i tried a different dodge dealership (cause mine is a talon) and these guys told me that there is no code needed for the Chrysler cars.
