Need some advice as to where to go from here

I have a 97 Talon n/t. My current mods are 17 inch white exel rims, strut bar, cold air intake, 2.5 inch tsudo exhaust, ssautochrome header and downpipe. I'm really not sure where to go from here and I need some advice.

Basically my dilemma is that I want to start doing some style mods. But I love the 97-98 Talon body A LOT. But like I said, I want to give it some more show. Aside from a turbo kit, nitrous, or boring out my throttle body, I don't think there is that much more I can do performance wise to give my n/t any more significant enough power. My long term goal is to just make this car run as well as possible, fast as possible, and look as good as possible and then sell it and buy a gst/x and start all over.

My visual mod plans include a roof scoop (yes I know they're not functional and frowned upon, but I've never seen a Talon with a roof scoop so I think it would look unique with the black on top.), blitz front end, bomex sides and I'll probably leave the oem back end. I really want to keep the identity of the Talon intact but one day I'm sure I'll replace it. Oh and also I'm getting it painted a brighter corevette-ish red. The color scheme screws me as well because I'd like to go with yellow and red but white and red is cool too but then I think about neon and white neon sucks and cops harass people for red neon so yellow sounds good but the white rims and my idea of red and yellow interior doesn't look good. I'm basically stuck on a number of different levels and I need some advice and opinions on my ideas and in the areas I'm stuck from fellow dsmers to figure out what I want to do.

Oh and by the way...

And can someone tell me why the hell my rear side windows don't come to a point like every other 2g dsm I've seen? I've seen many. I've gone through every 97-98 talon on car domain and NONE of theirs are rounded like mine. This annoys me because thats a particular little detail I love about dsms.

I agree, the 97 Talon fronts are quite unique, you don't really see many of them. If you like the front so much, why not just keep it? You could pick up some different sides, maybe a different rear, and those alone will make the car look pretty slick.

I say.. keep the front, pick up new sides and a new rear.

As for paint, white is always good. There are a ton of neon combinations you can do with white. Blue always looks good with white, red is also a good color, purple goes well also. Pretty much any color neon goes with white since its a pretty universal and neutral color.

As for other mods, have you thought about suspension? Not only will a good suspension setup make your car appear more aggressive, it will also improve the handling and overall feel of the car.

Whoa, that rear quarter window is crazy, I wish mine was like that :|

MKIV Supra windows are like that too. Very sheek. :thumb:

Here's a better view. The other pic was taken on my cell phone.

I dunno about the windows... I didn't even realize the difference until a month after I bought it. It's a mystery to me.

I think I just want to get sides, probably Bomex. If you notice on the 97/98's, the front end, the back end, and the side mount... things all go together in a ring around the car type fashion so it's pretty cool. I'm thinking more about a body kit since I am definitely getting it painted soon.

As for suspension, it was something I wanted to do at first but I scrape enough as it is. All the paint is completely gone underneath my front end plus I know nothing about doing suspensions. But I love increased handling so its definitely something I think I want to do in the future.

Once you lower it, you got to learn to drive at angles. Going up a curb or anything, angles, angles, angles. When I first got my suspension down I sucked at it... now it comes without me thinking about it, and over time you learn what curbs and roads don't work, and you just avoid them. So just lower it. :D
It looks like a trim piece on your window. You could probably remove it, but if your like me then you should touch it because it will break. I hate when I break things.
