I have a 95 eagle talon tsi. Right now I am doing a rebuild on the engine because I spun 2 bearings in the car. I have had the crank turned and the rods resurfaced. Im getting a .20 over bore on the block because the walls were a little ruffed up. I need in depth help and tell me all what I need to do when putting the engine (4g63) back together. I have an entire gasket kit new main and rod bearings a new EvoIII 16G ported and .20 over pistons. My friend told me about getting a new thrust bearing and aligning it. Im not sure how to do that and need help. If someone could tell me all that I need to do when rebuilding and how to do certain things that would be a GREAT help. If there is any other info you may need please let me know. Thanks. Also what would yall suggest on how to break in a new engine and what to run the turbo at still using the stock side mount. Thank you and please respond with as much help as possible ASAP. Thanks. Also is this: http://www.machv.com/conracmbcadk.html a good thing to get while i have the engine apart? Please give me all the info that can be given not just a one sentence thing i need help thanks.

ok i have pretty much figured out how to align the thrust bearing with the screwdrivers and moving it back and forth but i dont know what thousanths to leave it at...please help and let me know if this is all right and add if nessessary:

Setting the thrust involves torqeing all the bearing end caps down
and then loosening the #3 cap (the thrust bearing cap) and jamming
a screwdriver between the counter weights and the block on both
sides of the block to move the crank forward and back a few
thousandths of an inch. and then retorquing the #3 cap.

When you install the thrust bearing it is in 2 halves. There is some
room for misalignment which will cause the bearing to bind on the
crank and eventually crank damage, bearing damage and possibly a
walking crank.

When First installed the thrust bearing looks something like this
from the side.

Block is here

I I <--- Top halve
I--I =================================
I I
----
---- Crank ( counter weights not shown )
I I
I--I ===============================
I I <-- Bottom halve

Bearing end cap is here

Setting the thrust forces the two halves to align
Please correct me if I am wrong.

thanks.
