ok so i spun a rod bearing a little bit ago so i replaced the crank and the rod the bearing spun on. The machine shop dropped my stock 1g piston and completely trashed it so in return they milled my rods to put some 2g pistons on for free to make up for it. I have almost everything to put the car back together except piston rings and a head gasket. Now the piston rings i used npr last time and they seemed to work ok with a little blow by under high boost(25 psi) i was wondering if there was a better set like hastings/sealed power and why are they better. ive searched forums non stop and come up with next to nothing.
Now for the head gasket i dont have 2 fresh decked surfaces so i dont want to go mls so id like to stick with a composite HG. Last time i used felpro and it worked for 5k miles til i spun my rod bearing but im hearing some major horror stories about them should i go oem or what or suck it up and deck my block?
All this is going into a 1g gsx running a holset hy35 1600cc injectors bc272s all supporting mods. thanks so much in advance
