basically unbolt the lower ball joints pop them out then the axles just pull out or just tap them with a mallet or hammer since theres a clip that holds them in and it will leak a bit just a heads up

you need to drain the transmission before you remove the axles, otherwise you will have atf or gear oil (depending on whether its auto or manual) all over your garage floor/driveway. then follow the instructions provided in the link above.

xi, please don't post information that is not correct. "a bit" should be well over 1 quart of gear oil. if your transmission only leaked "a bit" theres something wrong. also please don't suggest that people hammer the ends of their axles, that is not the correct way to do it

There is a small c clip that hold them in, you will need to get a pry bar ish item in between the axel and the transmission and it will pop out.

To get them in, you line it up and use a hammer to knock it back it. HOWEVER!!! put a rag or piece of wood between the hammer and axel so that you don't mess up the threads.

**DO NOT LISTIN TO THIS KID**

you don't need to undo your ball joints, and do not hammer the axles to get them to pull out. Just get a thin bar between the axel and transmission and it'll come out.

You only need to pull the drivers side axel you can leave the passengers side axel in with the transmission (only do this if it's too hard to get out)

Jack up car, remove wheels, drain fluid and remove 32mm axle nuts. Remove the two bolts connecting the suspension to the knuckles. Take a pry bar or something equivalent (long flat blade screwdriver) and pop the Passenger axle out of the transmission. You are going to have to mess with it a bit to be able to remove it from underneath the car. I like to turn my steering wheel all the way to the right and remove the axle at that time. For the driver side, you are going to need to remove the 2 bolts connecting the half shaft to the engine block. Once those are removed you can remove the axle and half shaft just like you removed the passenger axle.
