need help with crower cams

ive got a stock 90 TSi AWD 5spd. My friend bought crower cams stage 2 for his 2g dsm and now he dont need them so i was planning on buying them from him for my 1g. What i need to know is what other parts do i need to get. Help would be appreciated

but do i need to upgrade the springs or can i just keep them stock? If i put them on will it hurt anything in the valve train?

If you still have the original springs the car came with I would swap them out for a set of OEM replacements. As long as you don't plan to rev to 8k on every pass, stockers should be just fine.

I think the crowers have to be degreed, But i am not 100% on that. So i would look into it.

You will need to degree them . Not by much. I have a friend that has the stage 3 in his car . And it idle great. But i whould get a set of oem springs. If i was u. You will be abe to rev to 8000rpm with no problem and even more. thanks oj

what do you mean by degree them?

Degree-ing the cams means getting a set of adjustable cam gears and tuning them for maximum horsepower.

I've got a set of Crower Stage 3's....I actually and talked to Crower (the son) and asked him about degreeing the cams...they don't need it....you can if you like but they are meant to just drop in, you will be fine just dropping them in...Unless you are making crazy power levels and want every last hp, then degree...

There's a vfaq on it I believe, I was contemplating on degreeing my cams and decided that it was more work than I was willing to put in and needed for my setup

The only other things I would recommend you to get would be a new set of cam seals...they're only like $5 and will save you from an oil leak...I had a bad experience with my cam seals and will change them every time my cams come out (not very often)
