I have a 91 laser turbo awd. When I bought it everything worked fine.... then the turbo went bad. :ohdamn: I looked around for stock turbos cause i didnt want to put much money into it. Well, that turned into 16g turbo, 550cc injectors, 255 lph fuel pump and 3" gm maf and translator. Got everything in and started up fine, but i am not sure how to tune it and it isnt very driveable. It has no power and wont build boost. I checked for boost leaks and found a few that i fixed but it still doesnt run well. If anyone could help it would be appreciated a lot since winter is soon approaching and awd will come in handy. Thanks!

do you have an afc yet? If not get one or something to tune for the bigger injectors

The maft will handle them to an extent. Do you have an afpr with that 255 fuel pump? Do you have the maft in blow through or draw through? Did you do a real boost leak test or just look for loose couplers?

If you didn't want to spend money buying a bunch of parts the factory ECM won't recognize isn't a good idea. To tune it properly you now need a WB02. Or you have to pay a dyno shop to tune it for you. I'd assume your pug rich with those injectors. But doing anything without a WB02 is risking a new engine IMO. I just bought and innovative WB02 on ebay for 170 shipped.

If you don't want to do all of this put the OEM equipment back in.

Good luck!

I would definitely recommend a wideband. Innovate LC-1 works great and can be found for around $200. Obviously also a simple logger(MMCD) and Palm is necessary as well. With these, tuning should be pretty easy with your Maf-t and 550cc injectors. You will also want to take care of any boost leaks as you said you have a few.

Thanks for the help, been out of town and havent been able to check up on here. I am buying a wideban02 and taking it to a shop that just reopened. As far as the boost leak test, yes i did a full test with a compressor. I have the MAF blow through and i dont have a afpr yet. Hopefully with the wideban the shop i am taking it to can do it. They specialize in evos and stis and anything with a turbo really. Thanks again for the help.
