Keep getting random misfire code and car sputters so bad i can drive it. Ive changed plugs, sent my coil on plug to spark tech and they said it was fine, checked fuel pump, compression 120 all the way across, gapped plugs differently. I changed the plugs and it ran fine for about 5 miles then it started sputtering again and through the code for random misfire. Mods up to date in profile. I really feel like giving up on it, i dont know what else to do. I dont think that any shops around here know too much about dsms either. Anything else i should check, ive searched for months and still cant figure this out

Also my wideband is lean off the gauge, tried tunin every which way with link still dont get it

I have had this random misfire and thought it was my coils, plugs, wires turns out it was the ignition coil. It is a $100 part from any local auto store around here or can go to the bone yard and get it for less but may not work. Hope this helps

120-120-120-120

took injecotrs out an o ring at the bottom of one was ate in half i changed it same problem, went in dsmlink and cut #1 and 4 injectors off and car didnt do anything different but when i cut 2nd and 3rd one off it made it die. anyone have any ideas? also i unplugged my coil on plug the same way 1 and 4 didnt do anything and 2nd and 3rd made it die. im stumped. i also took my cas off and cleaned it and it didnt help. Car didnt throw the random misfire code but its sputtering too bad to pull it out of my drive way. tryed changing everything in link and nothing helped.

Anyone have a clue?

Fixed the gas issue. Chanfed out injectors, cas, sprayed elecrical cleaner on ptu, checked completly for boosy/vacuum leaks, checked turbo, afpr, ecu, still dont understand why its running on cylinders 2and 3 only, anyone?

Well you did the power balance test and narrowed it down to two cylinders. Great job. Now you have to see why it is a misfire. A misfire is improper power coming from that cylinder. An engine needs air fuel and spark to properly ignite. Air is assumed to always be present. Fuel you said an issue because when u cut off the injectors there is no difference. And spark should be checked next. Ensure proper signal is being sent to injectors and spark plugs. What's ## plug gap? Buys noid light from parts store. That will tell you if the injectors are getting the signal they need or not. A test light can also work but the corded lead has to be on power, because the ecu send a ground signal to make the injectors fire. Let us know from there

Are you checking pressure at the pump or the rail? There can be fuel pressure at the rail, but if the injector is bad or isn't getting enough voltage than it won't be delivered properly. Does the car smell rich at all? Any back firing? Awesome that you narrowed down the 2 cylinders. Sounds like it is probably fuel related, but could always be spark. You wouldn't happen to know anyone else with a DSM would you? Maybe swap an injector that you know is good in and see if that helps the issue. What do your plugs look like? Could be getting fuel soaked and fouled.

i was having the same problem with my cop set up and it was due to the heat. i was using a cheaper cop set up. id lose two cyl at a time. if you shut it down while drive at the time when it happens and start back up dose it go away and come back or still there. if it is still there id consider going back to stock....if it isnt there after you restart but then come back after a while your in the same boat as me. My #1 cyl will randomly miss and if i just pop start it going down the road its good again for a while. Im going to try a new ignition module (transistor pack) and see what happens its the only thing left. Ive also check and re-checked everything. Hope this helps.

If you all ready tested the Coils and they are working good, then next step is to fallow the line ( go deeper), your next step is to check the Transistor, the transistor sends signal to the coils, SO, If your coils are good and you know your injectors are working, then go ahead and test the transistor.

I bet is your transistor that is giving up.

ordered a transistor, it should be here in about 45 minutes, i hope this helps

fixed it!!! thanks everyone, it fire right up on all four cylinders first crank im so happy
