WELL guys im haveing trouble with the timeing i soppose, its bin a realy pain in the ass, me and my dad have bin trying to do it for the last week and a half and nothing. Here is the story, i Blew a head gasket so we had to get the head resurfaced grind valvs ECT, and we put the head back on, all electronics vacuum hoses ect. and we have the timeing perfect, just the way the book says,, we even tried a little obove the level of the head is, we tried 1 tooth off everything, we atleast tried 25 times and 20 time sit was dead perfect then we tried a little off and all still nothing. car cranks but doesnt turn on. at one point the car started but when my dad gave it gas from the engine bay and kept giveing it a little gas the car would stay on, then when he would let go the car would like bog/stall and then turn off, the car realy shakes when i try to turn it on, even when it turned on it would shake alot. any you guys know that proplem or what it could be.

is your car really a '97? Also, you're timing must be off bro. get your covers off and snap pics of how it sits while set to TDC and we can tell you what's up.

Have you checked for proper tension?
be very careful trying to crank it, very very dangerous.

I'm not an PRO yet...but do you have spark?? or fuel??
I would chk that 1st...
Well till a PRO gives you better advice...I'll let you check for spark, fuel.
Make sure you didn't crossed the spark plug wires..and chk it again..it happened to me once :D the car won't start...GOD bless I had the timing belt on it right and I didn't bent valves..etc.

i do have spark, and we checked atleast 30 times on the haynes manual book to see the order there sopose to be in, im just so fustrated

Couldn't tell from pics or vid...but are both dowel pins on the came gears up?
Maybe some other guys can chime in, but would your cam angle sensor being 180out cause it to not start?

If all the timing marks line up, and there is proper tension on the belt, the cam dowels are at 12 o'clock, and it doesn't start its not timing related.

There is a harness right behind the fuel rail, inbetween the fuel rain and the intake plenum that is about 1.5-2" wide, make sure it is plugged in fully, it gives the coils power.

If that doesn't work, check for fuel pressure by cracking the fuel rail inlet, it may spray so have a rag handy.

If there is no pressure, check your fuel pump, its under the passenger rear seat.

I want to help but I need more info.

Your video is so choppy, I could not see if the dowels were up on the exhaust cam, I managed to see the intake cam is right.

Did you put the intercooler piping back on? Metered air likes to be burnt in proportion to the fuel it is supposed to be mixed with, and it would probably not run.

Give us more info, I have done this procedure more than 20 times.

Everytime I have seen a car that is out of time/bent valves it makes a plook plook plook noise when its cranking over, like air being half way compressed and not fired. Not just the regular Wnanananananananananana of a 4g63 cranking over.

Ok, I have a 97GST too. I've done the timing belt a couple times. I hate to ask, but are you sure that its getting fuel and fire and that ALL the electrical connectors are plugged back in and are secure? I'm thinking it must be something else...if your dowels are up and the crank marks line up, then it should fire up as long as its getting fuel and fire. Have you checked the cam angle sensor. I know that it can be 180 out and cause problems, I just dont remember what. I know how you feel, i've been in the same situation with my car. Just double check fuel and fire and ALL connections when its daylight tomorrow.
Good luck man.

edit: The CRANK angle sensor is one that I often forget to plug back in, check that too. I'm just throwing out ideas for you.

He said it runs/did run so.....Plugs are possibly fouled.

Make sure when you clean/replace/regap your plugs, you use a set of needle nose to set them down in the spark plug wells, if you just drop them down the tubes you can be closing the gap if it hits the hole just right.

Like ^ he said, double check everything.

Also my spark plugs Look like this everytime i clean them and take them out when my car dont start, 4,3,2 look like that the 1st cylinder is clean

That's right, Being you tried starting the car so many times when the timing belt was installed the wrong way, You may have bent your valves now... If that were the case, You'd be taking the head back off and having it sent off again..

my timeing was right/ the 4th cylinder does not have sprk what so ever, and the last coil im not sure what one that is its the last one on the left is not getting power for the wire becuase my dad tried the good wire on it and it didnt give me any spark
