Need Help On A Muffler

Well guys i was thinking on getting a tanabe muffler and going with a custom exhaust, But is a 3.5 Muffler tip look good? or will the 3.5 inch tip look to small on my 97 GST??? Any you guys have piks of your 2g with 3.5 inch muffler tip? ill give rep if you show me some pictures thanks.

It will look good. I have a 4" and think its a little large. The tanabe muffler that I heard sounded great too

Ok guys im thinking of getting custom peping from an exhuast shop since im low on cash but if a muffler shop were to do me a 3 inch exhuast were would the sensor go on the exhaust pipeing? there is a sensor on the stock pipeing how would that work? and keep the commects comeing about the 3.5 muffler tip thanks

They would tap an o2 bung for it.

How much would muffler shops charge for a 3 inch pipeing also the muffler i bought has a 2.5 outlet on the back would a 3inch hurt the performnce since its 3inch and the back of the muffler is 2.5??

Back with my last talon, I had an exhaust shop build my exhaust from O2 back. I supplied the muffler, flange for the DP and flex section, they charged me $90. That included the pipeing, bending it, welding it, etc...Not a bad deal at all imo. Ended up costing me around 200 for it all.

And using 3" pipeing with a 2.5" muffler would be a step in the wrong direction. If you have a 2.5" muffler then either get pipeing the same size or sell the muffler and get the 3" if thats what your heart is set on. 2.5" pipeing would do you till around 400 hp fyi.

My gaol is 300whp im daily driver and need a nice working car for work so a 2.5 pipeing would be good? would you feel a difrence then your stock pipeing if so how much of a difrence?

Be carefull bumping your post like this its a no no. He has the cheapest exhaust ive ever heard of. I got a good deal I thought. I bought a magnaflow race muff and cat for $200. Had my mechanic bend and weld up 3"SS pipes with a flex pipe. He charged 400 for all the pipe and work. So it was 600 all together. Yes 2.5 piping will be perfect and it will not allow a mitsubishi turbo to boost creep if you ever get one. My brother layed down 300whp 300lb torque at 17psi(16g) with 2.5" piping and a muff with 2.25" inlet and his exhaust is quiet.
