summer's here and im looking to buy new rims (17's), tires, shocks and springs...
let me just say this first: i dont plan on autocrossing or taking onramps at 70! i just need a decent non-stock suspension base to build my dsm on.
for rims, ive seen a few sets i like: some motegi MR7's and Eagle MSR's (both 17x7), for about $400.
for tires... i really dont know. ive talked to people at tires plus and they seem to think i want extreme peformance tires ($200 a tire), but really all i want is a decent year-round tire that can handle minnesota road conditions... is $400-450 a reasonable price for the tires and mounting?
suspension, i want to lower my car a moderate amount, like an inch or maybe an inch and a quarter. obviously i wont need a camber kit for an inch, but will the ride quality be significantly less so that i would need upgraded shocks? well i was thinking the 1.2inch lowering springs by eibach ($250) and if i need adjustable shocks, maybe the kyb agx's ($85 each)?
so total im at about $1400 for everything (rims/tires/springs/shocks) + costs for mounting/installing stuff (how difficult is it to install shocks/springs? ive never done it before). is there any way to cut costs here or am i already cutting corners? i'm on somewhat of a budget, being in high school still, so consider that as well*
if you suspension masters could offer some insight on what i wanna do (or just suspension tuning in general) id really appreciate it!
