Hey all,

So my shocks are completely owned, and I'm sick of bouncing around like I'm playing in a bouncy castle. I've been doing some research and I think I want to go with the tokico illumina adj+springs kit (ilk 240). Just wanted to see what everyones thoughts were and if this was a good deal that I found on ebay:

TOKICO ILLUMINA ADJ SHOCKS & SPRINGS 95-99 ECLIPSE AWD | eBay

Thanks!!!:)

PS. Just to add, I wanted to keep my budget around 600$, so I thought this was the best bang for the buck!

Cool avatar. Are you going top continue to track the car? Makes all the difference.

If you're only spending $600 and you're not interested in discounted, used gear, then yes. This sounds like it would be what you're looking for. There's nothing truly "better" in that price range. As for the bouncy castle, obviously it will be improved but shocks/springs of this caliber are not noted for their manners.

However, I recently saw Koni yellows for sale for $150 a pop. There's your $600, now just save for the GC's. This setup would be an outstanding upgrade over the Illumina kit.

This may help the OP or be off topic...

I see a lot on Koni and GC which fully done is around $1000... Would live it but we dont all have that kind of money and atreet performance/looks is enough for most DSMer's.

Can you put GC's on another type of strut? Tokico, KYB, etc...

You can, but the rates pretty much overwhelm all those options. They could be tailored a bit and work pretty well I'd imagine, keeping the shocks boundaries in mind. The rebound when I crank my Illuminas is insane. Makes me curious about rear rates for Illuminas being higher than others when ordering stock GC's for them. At least that's been my observation.

Thanks :) That was taken for a reality TV show called street kings, we were doing a parallel parking challenge, haha. I do plan on tracking the car, but it's main focus will be more of a daily driver as of recently since I ditched my other car. I def. want new gear, esp since tokico does the lifetime warranty to the original owner... I guess my main question is: should I get the it with the springs or w/o. I have some shit springs I could use till next paycheck and get maybe some eibachs on the tokicos.
Thoughts?

Just really need something, the springs are like 10 years old, and the struts are original! LOL. I know tokicos won't be as smooth of a ride as a decent coilover kit, but just need something that can be decent at track and be great for DD. I seriously bounce for like 2-3 seconds after a bump now haha. There is virtually no recovery, it's pathetic.

Here let me google that for you

Or check the classifieds.

I've had Koni's on every single AutoX car I have run in the past 7 years. Worth it.

91 Mirage-S + 4g63 swap
96 SC1 w/ Twin Cam swap
93 240sx
91 TSI AWD
96 GST
05 Redline

Totally Totally worth it. When I got the saturn it Had Togicos on it. And they felt mushy to me compaired to the mirage-s with yellows.

Anyone else find it strange that link posted for the Tokicko Illumina Strut combo lowers the eclipse 1.0F/R and the Talon is 1.75F/R..

Same car why the difference?

That's nothing. My favorite web-site, by far, even though it's gone now, was the one that sold front camber plates for 2G Eclipses, but just plain pillowballs for 2G Talons, on the grounds that only the former had struts.
