Hey I read up on the emissions and vaccuum hose elmination at http://www.taboospeedshop.com/emissions.htm and I dont really get what the "turbocharger wastegate solenoid" is, and if you can really remove it?

Im going with the "race only" setup, but I cant figure out what the "turbocharger wastegate solenoid" is. Is this it?

Thats what I think it is according to the diagrams from taboo speed shop, but I see that there is a wire coming off of it...
 
Phew..I was just wondering about the wires and such by it. I have another quick question about a the PCV. Instead of having a catchan like in the "race only" picture, can I remove the catchcan and let those two hoses point to the ground? I heard something about just letting it drip to the ground. I also heard of people just using a fuel filter instead of a catchcan. Can you do either of these things?
 
Yep, sure can.

If you have a decent amount of blowby, you'll want to check your oil levels quite often if you just have hose pointed at the ground.
 
What would be an alternative to just routing the hoses to the ground? Using a fuel filter or catch can instead? And what direction does the oil flow, since the fuel filter has a flow direction.
 
That's how I did it - valve cover --> short tube --> G2 --> long tube - harmonica hose.

I also put another one in between the PCV system and the intake manifold and hollowed out the PCV valve.
