i read through all 3 links and have a few more questions, you must have never guessed...LOL. anyway, i bought a set of arp headstuds that have not been used but do nto come with the special arp lube. what type of lube should i use on the bolts and nuts? and what do you all recommend i torque them down to sense i have heard way too many different numbers? the last question is if i have my head machined flat because of warpage, do you think the block would be warped as well?
thanks again

ARP suggests a good quality Moly Lubricant if you do not use their lubricant, torque to 80ft/lbs. If you dont use a moly lube, use 30wt oil on threads and washers and torque to 120ft/lbs. Most likely your block is not warped, iron is a lot harder to warp than aluminum. The only way to be sure is to get a straight edge ruler and feeler gauge and check it yourself. Or pull the block and take it to a machine shop and have them check it.

thats the thing. if you read the instructions that this guys posted, you will notice that they tell you not to use any other moly lube other then their own or their might be a head gasket failure. so i guess 30w motor oil it has to be.
thanks for the help man

edit: forgot the post

Auto machine shops will have arp lube in a can, you might be able to borrow some.

had a quick question for you guys sense i just had the engine checked out by my mechaninc and he does not think that the problem is a blown head gasket. he thinks it is either the valve seals or the piston rings. so my question is, can i replace the exhaust valve seals without taking the head off? my mechanic has done it on other cars, but is not sure if it possible on this one. so if any of you have done it or know if it can be done, please share some of your info.
thanks for the help
