Im running an hx40 with my 2.3 stroker and i love this turbo but i really think my stock intake is choking the car up top, i also think its time to toss my web street grind cams out. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great. The setup in my car right now is a 2.3 stroker, with a ported and o-ringed head with 1mm over sized valves, not sure on the valve springs, web street grind cams, fp race exhaust manifold, hx40w with a bep.55 bolt on housing, 2.5in exhaust, 2.5in intercooler piping through a busher street intercooler and stock throttle body. Ren limie is 7000 rpm, and i keep boost at 25psi on the street and 30psi at the track. Does anyone now if stock valve springs are double springs?
Thanks

i would go with some forced performance fp3 cams (great cam... made for a 100mm crank...), and maybe pick up a set of forced performance beehive springs n retainer set unless you already have upgraded springs n retainers?

like above already mentioned, or some kelford 280's. then you will need some dual springs/retainers.

for an intake manifold, maybe a jmf drag or magnus race smim

You can also try something thats be tried and true for many years and thats the HKS 272/272...they're expensive...but they're a great cam for street and race...I've also heard good things about FP cams

Actually FFWD has their DKS cams which are mirror images of the HKS 264/272/280 cams and at half the price, also heard good things about those cams even though they are regrinds

well cool, dual springs are FAR FROM STOCK . LOL. they are a nice n pricey setup. would go great with the FP "stroker cams" could probably even go with their next size up stroker cam with those springs with no problems if that is what your looking to do is go all out.

intake manifold... what you gonna be building your car to do and using your car for? what price range are you hoping for on it? many option but we can narrow down the surch to see what would suit you. you draggin, street/weekend warrior, shooting for some real high hp number, looking for a fast DD?

I just got back into dsm's thats why i was asking for input, 6 years ago all I heard was mangnus was so great because of the velocity stacks. Things change thats why i wanted to ask for help. And now that i look at it, they are most likely web dual springs in the head, anyone have any info on them? And toofast, i dump my wastegate so do you still think a 2.5in exhaust is a problem?

dvdt makes great stuff... their prices are through the roof!! there are plenty of other options that are just as good instead of spending that kind of dough.

If your still running a 2.5" exhaust, that would be at the top of my list for things to replace. A full 3" system will defently help your top end & allow you to take full advantage of the larger cams & intake mani you plan on getting.

Yea, great evidence for a rebuttle.

His stuff might work okay, but how would it change if he used better parts?

dyno proven it was far better than his previous manifold. and the power it made was crazy. btw... just ### you think it is the best doesnt really mean it performs the best... especially on different cars n different setups..:boring:

I just built a 2.3 and I decided to go with a 280 setup (BC cams). I'm planning on reving to 8k or lower, so I hope those aren't too big for me. I also have a JMF SMIM race 1g, I'll let you know in a few weeks if it's a good combo or not if you can wait that long.
