Hey so got some questions about bore wash.

When I got my car from my tuner it was running good I drove it home maybe 30 miles and when I got it home it started to run really ruff.

I found that my compression in cylinder 3 and 4 was really low. like 50's but because he had done cam install I wasnt sure if maybe the valves had gotten stuck open.

I returned it to him on a tow truck.

Then he ran a leak down test and found they were leaking threw the bottom. They he had the injectors tested and the 2 for cylinder 3 and 4 were stuck open. My question is

Is there anyway to fix this. From my understanding bore wash just washes the oil from the rings. Now it wasnt run too long to completely destroy the rings? So would a oil change and maybe putting some miles on it cure the problem? Is it even worth a shot?

Is there any oil I could add before I got balls to the wall and build the motor. I was only sitting at maybe 350 on e85. Is there any cures for bore wash or to get the oil to protect the motor? Maybe get out of a build?

Need help asap thanks guys

Nothing you can do once the rings have been washed out. It usually ruins the rings and scratches up the cylinder. You'll need to tear it down, replace the rings and rehone the cylinder and hope nothing else was damaged.

It's a little strange that the issue showed up immediately after the cam install though. With big injectors and e85, you should notice some driveability issues with a couple of injectors stuck open. Maybe consider taking the car to a different shop for a second opinion on cause of failure.

we noticed driveability issuses once I had it at the house. I thought it was a spark problem until I found all the gas in the cylinder so you dont think its worth a shot it maybe at most has just been turned over since the problem started?

Well I guess it wont hurt just to see if I can get the rings to seal again? Cause worst case Im boring it anyway to make it a 2.3 but again guess its worth a shot...... =( sad was hoping someone would say it might work LOL I dont have my hopes up or holding my breath but i have like 2% hope LOL

any other thoughts?

If you plan to rebuild/build an engine either way then what can it hurt to try and change the oil and see how it runs. I would also take the spark plugs out and add about a cap full to each cylinder before starting it and let the engine turn over a few times before running it with the new oil in it. Good luck either way man.
