i was changing out my fuel pump and i stripped the nut what can i use to take it off! i allready tried vice grips!

get a socket that is just a little smaller and tap it on wit a hammer

Vice-Grips are your only hope. You will have to latch those puppies on tight and hope to god you can hold them still while you bust the line loose with a wrench.

Gator Grip, any hardware store should have a tool like so...


Its not that bad I ve seen worse!

i use pipe wrenchs,they work the best.you think you had a bad day i wasnt paying attention and over tightend the bolt on my fuel lid and it snapd of

looks like the lines crimped but i dont see why vise grips wouldant work probably ## best bet

Yeah I stopped before I made it worse. Ima give it another try and just prey it doesn't get worse or bend the hose anymore.

try a adjustable plumbers wrench. Works wonders.

sence its on car and fuel might be in line my idea pry wouldnt work. but i have before taken a pice of junk metal and welded like a small pipe onto it then pushed on that to break it loose then you can usually vice grip it off.

A flarenut wrench is the best bet and should be used on all fuel and brake lines. It doesn't look that bad yet.

+1 on the flare tool but waterpump pliers should work as well.

I would say those vice grips are your best bet but a pipe wrench may work as well. Good luck

Irwin vise grips. They never slip. Im am a mechanic by trade and I use these often. They will shave metal off first. They are a last option. If they fail you are going to have to replace.

I'd cut the line, find a new nut and reflare it. You can rent the flare tool from any Oreilly or Autozone.

Soak it first with penetrating oil. Then go at it with the vise grips or a line wrench.
