need help 2g talon

i have a 96 talon 420a. Recently it started to develop a problem that i cant figure out. It will run fine for 10 mins then the check engine light will flash and the rpm gauge will go crazy and it will misfire and die. If i try to restart the car it will idle at 100 rpm, for a couple seconds then die and wont crank over again. anyone have any ideas of what could be causing this?

It could be a coil problem sometimes once thay heat up thay stop working

I also say check the coil. They run the same style coil you see on the DOHC neons, and those were notorious for going bad.

It may help. Though it's for a 4g .It's just an Ohm check

thanks for the replys. I replaced the coil pack to no avail then i checked the fuel pump and it was not bad, now i replaced the cam shaft sensor and the same thing is still happening does anyone have any other ideas??????

If the CEL is on, why don't you scan the PCM for codes? Report back with whatever code you find...

it only turns on about 2 mins before its about to die

That's long enough to pull the code... Seriously, though, the PCM may store a code without illuminating the CEL.

i understand what you are saying and i tried the key trick but got nothing and i wont have a code reader untill saturday

## ecu may be shot .... if nothing has worked so far ..

Could be the ecu or check and see if your crankshaft position sensor went to crap. Its located above the oil filter housing
