Whats the difference between the two? Goods and bads? Can they handle the same amount of power/torque? Can I use a NA block and swap some turbo pistons and can it handle the same power as a Turbo block? Any feedback would be great. :dsm::confused:

Does anyone one have any feedback on Horsepower wise, is the NA block weaker or can it still handle some power? Are the rods from the NA as strong as a Turbo one's?

I used a N/A block before, bored it .040 over and used Eagle rods and Waisco pistons. I never had a single problem with it. Now I'm using a turbo block.

n/t blocks and the turbo blocks are the same with the exception of the oil squirters and pistons...
you can build a n/t block to run crazy boost as long as you change the pistons for a good set of turbo pistons... i have even read that the oil squirters fail upon high boost and even cause a drop in oil pressure...

If you use the N/A Block you are going to have to look around for a turbo oil cooler or an external cooler also, the n/a oil pan doesn't have an oil return line(obviously) so you need to weld one on or get one that has it on it already. Slowboy had some affordable ones.

If you use the stock turbo pistons you might need the oil squirters, you might consider going with some forged pistons as most (if not all) are designed to run without squirters and you can just order the pistons to fit whichever rods you go with.

Use your SEARCH box there's all kinds of info about it.
Here's some that helped me a lot when I did my swap to a 6 bolt N/A...
