ok guys i've looked for like the last 2 hrs. or so...........the thing is my clutch is going out (hit the gas, rpms go but car doesnt) and i need to get a new one. Im planning on eventually going to a bi16g with supporting mods. My question is which clutch should I get and what should i get with it? Any input you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated........

well, you could try doing a search. Lot of info out there. Anyways, the ACT 2100 holds up to 322 ft lbs if I remember corrrectly, the 2600 holds over 400; If your planning on maxing out the b16g, you might need the 2600 because max power is 400 hp and torque won't be to far behind that. Only problem is that many people think the heavier clutches will cause crank walk easier. So, each side has its pluses or minuses. There are other options besides ACT, but I don't know much about them, act seems to be the standard clutch around here.

As far as what else to replace, I'd say a flywheel and TOB are essential must do items. At least have your old flywheel resurfaced, but buying a new one is a good investment. Things you could do would be an LSD while you have the tranny out and a stornger clutch fork if you have the cash lying around. I did a clutch flywheel and LSD recently and it was a huge improvement to my drivetrain. I also windowwelded the motormounts. That upgrade was worth every penny.

GOod luck man

buy a clutch masters 2500lb pressure plate w/street disc, my friend has been runnig that clutch in his fwd 2g tsi for a while, feels nice for a fwd. i like a 2600 for mine, but its a real snappy feeling launch, i wouldnt really want that clutch for launching a fwd, getting traction launching is already too hard.

act 2600 is great and all for an awd, cause you can launch at 4500, dumping the clutch, and it just takes the abuse and sends you lying off down the track every time. but your not going to be doing that in a fwd(unless you like breaking things, my buddy has about 4k into his fwd drivetrain, and now just snaps axels every time he launches high with the lsd, on stock turbo). plus the CM 2500 has a softer feel for daily driing then the 2600, plus some people thing the 2600 is bad for crankwalk, but the 2500 is better. CW is random after you upgrade your turbo IMO.
