need advice..going to tracks

arite i went to the tracks...had a couple bad runs, wanna go back n do what i shud really be doing... my current mods are hks bov, cone air intake, apexi downpipe, mbc. i got fairly new tires n 18'' rims ( id ont how much of a difference in time the bigger tires will make) i wanna know if i shud get race gas(100 oct), what i shud set my boost to spike, how i should launch the car, and when to shift to minimize my 1/4 mile time... car is 98 gst spyder....thanx in advance

launch at 3000 RPM slipping clutch out, ONLY go 75% WOT in first and shift @ 5000RPM, and 2-3 gear go WOT and shift at 6000RPM (T-25 maxs HP out at 6000). If your MBC is spiking its a POS dump it and get a Hallman and set it to 15PSI (PM me i have a Hallman 4 sale).

oh 4 sure, ure da next city over, we were plannin on going maybe in 2 weeks...ill keep u posted... cuz palmdale is havin its last drag strip days for the year coming up

btw....how do u figure 75% i mean? dat sounds hard to figure how much im floorin it...n settin my mbc to 15...mite as well not have one. i boost around 15 stock...i wanted to raise it a tad bit so when it starts fallin off around 5k, it will still be reasonably high...

for starters, you shouldnt go over 15psi on the T-25 cuz it'll blow like Jenna Jameson in Buttman 13, not to mention to have stock fuel trim and no air/fuel control; You could turn up the boost a little using race gas, but the damn thing is not gonna hold more than 15-16psi for more than a second or two anyways.......The T-25 power kicks in around 3k rpm and falls off around 5k-5.5k rpms cuz its a shiitey turbo. On the line, Rev it up to around 3-4k like he said, slip out the clutch and go......with 18's and a stock turbo, you shouldnt be spinning your tires much at all in first or second........dont redline it either, shift around 6-6500 rpms to keep that turbo in its powerband.............

i had my T-25 at 15PSI for two years that is the MAX for the T-25 and yes it doesnt fall off at 5.5K but still makes power till 6000 RPM.

With a MBC you get better boost response and it doesnt spike you should invest into a MBC. I just upraded my Hallman to a Greddy Profec TYPE-S. If you want my old MBC ill sell it to you for $35. It doesnt matter how high you set the boost the T25 will drop to 12 PSI after 5K. As someone already said you shouldnt have that much wheel spin problems cause i have big 18s. So in first gear just go as fast as you can go without spinng the tires.Hit me up when u go im always down
