Hello all, I am in need of some advice for my transfer case off of my 1998 GSX. Recently, while driving, it completely seized on me and now I am searching for a new one. I am in between buying a new one or just sending it off to a shop and having it built to withstand my future build plans. My question is, if I send it off to have it built, where are some good places I should consider for the build? I've heard Jack's and TRE are solid choices, but I want to hear what you all have to say.

To give you an idea of where I am at, I am just over 410awhp / ~380 torque. I am wanting to shoot for the low-mid 500awhp / mid 400 torque by the end of the year.

Their really isn't much to a t case, just get a rebuilt unit from jacks.
Completely stock unit will take 500whp mid 400's torque. the stock trans on the other hand will be toast.

When you get to 500+whp the tcase will be the last thing your thinking about haha. I don't know your setup.. but when I hit 480 whp... I started thinking of my crap 2g brakes fading out (I may have pulled up like a boss but when that gt500 decided to hit the brakes, I about **** my pants haha). My 2 spider center diff. My stock trans. My 3 bolt rear. A good tcase will take that power.
Yours most likely died from fluid leak or being low on fluid. The smallest drip will quickly add up in a tcase.

Kinda interesting the T-Case holds up fairly well to some power figures.
What do you reckon a stock trans will manage without releasing the magic smoke trapped inside?

I no first hand on the 1g awd trans about 400hp they start to break ive sheered the teeth of in mine before like a hot knife threw butter
