cant decide what colors and stuff to do with under my hood. my car is a 95 awd talon that is barecolona red pearl (purple) i was THINKING about going off of the AMS fighter pilot them but idk. thinking of just doing some random BRIGHT/POPPING color also.

just want to get some ideas from people!!

I will give you an idea. I feel I have a pretty clean engine bay. Start by cleaning up any unused vacuum lines / sensors. UNLESS your in an emissions NAZI state... The biggest area you can clean up would be the dead space between the injectors and the intake mani. It took me about 2 hours to do but I tucked the main harness for coils/injectors/TPS/MAP sensor UNDER the intake mani. I then routed the Throttle Cable under the fuel rail. HUGE difference.

Please dont use tons of colored wire loom. Thats really ricey IMO. I cleaned up the engine bay once I was done hiding wiring and vacuum lines I taped off the inner fenders and touched them up. It makes a huge difference. I really wish I had taken before and after pics. If you cant remove EMISSIONS etc try using black zip ties to group looming and wiring together. If you can make good angles and keep everything together it will make it look cleaner.

Here is a pic FYI im still fabbing a custom upper IC piping from PVC so dont laugh at the white elbow from the TB. NOTICE the uncluttered area near the fuel rail :)

PS shaving the valve cover does wonders as well. It makes the engine bay seem less busy

all the wire tucking and ripping crap out part is already in progress :)

i just cant decide on colors really.... loom will NEVER be any color other than black for me, so basically i need to decide on color of fuel filter, afpr, VC, IC piping etc etc...

+1 avoid alot of loud colors. It will just make the engine bay seem busier and couteract all the tucking and cleaning up. I went with the graphite/silver on a black car and it looks really good in person. The pics dont do it much justice

that looks crazy clean :thumb: any more detailed pics so i can copy :D

my car isnt red, my avatar is my fwd car i sold a while back. i now have a 95 purple awd talon...

i was thinking something along the lines of gunmetal, but idk. i think the AMS fighter pilot theme would be pretty cool and semi "original"

Gunmetal with a yellow accent. Yellow will pop out from the purple, and the gun metal to avoid the rice look. I'd either shave the cover or paint the letters yellow with a gunmetal base. Keep your silicone couplers yellow and chrome the rest.

I went with gold. I'd consider it a pretty uncommon color choice and Fuel Lab offers a gold FPR and fuel filter. Match that up with some AN fittings and black lines and it is a good color choice.

i went with red

Bright lime green - that red car will really set it off ! LOL

Hey, rush2252 what did you use to get the graphite look?

Red and chrome look good. But if you want to stand out open the hood of your shiny red pearl hood and then BAM camo paint. LOL Do you have any current pics of the engine bay?

lots of sanding. I used duplicolor wheel paint. And then a ton of the pearlescent wheel clear.

I need to redo some spots I had issues with coolant dousing it during a radiator removal.

To the OP it didnt turn out BAD but honestly its walking the line of rice with the silicone hoses. Try another color along with the red such as flat black. Itll help tone it down a bit. LOoks good
