Need a real tranny...sick of going used.

When I originally bought my GST, it had a blown tranny. I wanted to get it on the road quick, fast, and in a hurry, so I took it down do Mitsu. The only transmission they said they could get was a used one somewhere halfway across the country. I bought it, installed it, put new tranny fluid in it, took it for a test drive...it ran fine...Somewhere in July, I had that timing belt incident ("Can't ressurrect my DSM...dammit!", and "Car won't start pulling out hair" threads). From then until the end of August it had been sitting on ramps until I put it back together. During the time it was on ramps, tranny fluid was pissing out of it like mad. I checked the fill and drain plugs and they were fine. I was like "Great! Gotta get another transmission!"...Where can I get this one rebuilt right, instead of dumping money into another used one that's destined for doom anyway? And if there are, are they close to the New England area, instead of going with Shepard racing in Ohio? I can't afford that far! LOL . Any advice is greatly appreciated! :dsm:

Is there anything wrong performance wise with the tranny or is it just leaking?
If it's just leaking did you find where it's leaking from?
It could be leaking from one of the gaskets in which case you could take it apart, clean it up and use a fresh coat of rtv. If it's cracked then you would need a new housing.
