need a part identified

i tried looking at the engine tutorial that is stickied already and couldn't find out exactly what it is im looking for...

what is the hose that runs out of the left side of the block ? it is right below radiator cap on the lower part of the block.

trying to find out what it is because i just popped my hood to watch my engine idle after taking it out on the interstate and i saw some drops of liquid falling out of one of the hoses at a connection point. i think i may just need to tighten it up but i wasn't about to reach down there when the car was still hot :/

what kind of liquid is dripping out? i am guessing its a coolant hose, guys correct me if i'm wrong. if i'm wrong, my excuse is because i own a 1g.

yes if its right underneath the radiator cap that would be the thermostat housing. There should be several hoses coming out...I just replaced all of them so i wouldn't have to worry about the others down the road.

yeah it turned out to be coolant that was dripping. hopefully it doesn't anymore since the hose is tightened down now.

yeah i had this hose split apart and spray coolant all over the place i was like WTF. Steam everywhere. was a PITA to replace without removing any other hoses.
