chtown,
Just bought a 98 gsx with a blown motor! Now i have a JDM 6 bolt out of my 91 laser rs that runs perfect. What is involved to swap this over into the 98gsx?? I allways heard tell of the 2g guys going with the 6 bolt. Thanks for your help guys!

Are you looking to keeping the all wheel drive on your 98? If you are, then you don't have to much to worry about in swapping.

Of course all of your engine components. You can use either your 1g or 2g pulleys. i.e. alternator, p/s ( if you have it and want to keep it),

Now that I think of it, you won't have to swap much out from your 2g into your 1g.

Except your CAS with your crank sensor. :thumb:

Very helpful sites. My swap will be done within the next week, hopefully.

Was your Laser AWD? If not, you will need a 6 bolt AWD flywheel. If it wasn't turbo, then you will need to have the rods machined to accept your 2g pistons, and also a 1g turbo water pipe. N/T pistons have a higher CR and will cause your motor to go boom.

Either way your 2g pistons are the way to go with the swap, however they are not completely necessary to make the swap work. Just a little better performance.

Good Luck
