I just installed Greddy upper and lower ic pipes with a greddy type s bov and a k&N filter kit and now my car is making a weird noise. Whenever I let off the gas, even if not building boost, my cars makes this deep fluttering sound (the same sound like blowing across the top of a bottle). I know that the bov will flutter but I have it set very loosely and the sound is coming more from the center of the motor than the bov side. Anything to worry about or just keep driving?

i'd still say that the BOV is too tight.. or too loose.. i've found that 8 threads or so showing is good. is it making the high pitched whistle its supposed to when blowing off?

go over it again and check if you have any leaks and tighten all of your bolts up again.. just in case.. oh, and the BOV flange might be leaking

if its fluttering it sounds like compressor surge did you reconnect the vacum line form the BOV to the intake manifold.

The line that goes to the stock bov is plugged to the front of the greddy and the bottom nipple in the rear has been left alone. I loosened the bov a little more and still the same sound. I swapped the pipes and bov from my 1996 talon. There were no problems with that car. Maybe it's just my imagination. When I get on the throttle hard and let off, I get the nice typical bov sound.

i got that with my 2g too! with the third lower nipple open the setting will ALWAYS be too hard. two approaches to this...take the bov cap (purple crap) off and remove the inner spring or connect that third nipple to something. I've heard rerouting it to the uicp works and the second thing was the boost source???
