So i have this ticking sound when the car idles a constant tic..tic..tic..tic..tic..tic it's coming from the head so it sounds like somebody says my oil i low so i changed the oil it was time anyway and i still have that ticking sound but when i drive i dont hear it anymore only at idle  can you guys help me and my 97 GS-T it drives like a champ:thumb:

That would be the sound of your lifters going tick tick tick tick. Mitsu makes revised lifters that do not tick anymore. If you plan on building your motor or head, then replace them, if not then I think it might be a lot of money to have it done.

does the ticking sound go faster as you rev ? If not and it stays constant have a listen inside the cabin. I found it to be one of my solenoids ( feul pressure or soemthing)

Now that you understand the lift tick concept with our motors when someone trys to act smart and critisize on your car or the motor due to it ticking you can sound really smart when you come back with. Well actually...... :rocks:

uh, I'd say thanks, but you gave me a neg rep point for helping you out. ?

Regular members cannot give Negative rep points - only Moderators and Wisemen. If someone gave you Negative rep points, the bar by the rep point in your User Control Panel would be red. If it's Grey, that just means that the user who gave you rep points hasn't gotten enough rep points him/her self for the points to add to your reputation, so they count as "0" for now. The Grey bar will (supposedly) turn Green once that member has ammassed enough rep points to be able to add to other's reputations.
This system is in place to encourage everyone to participate in the forums, and to discourage members from having their friends sign up for accounts just to hand them Rep points.

:)

For anyone with a GS/RS reading this post, PT cruser lifters are a direct match , i know they are for the non turbo's for sure, but you might wanna look into it for the 4g's, there stronger and you could probably find them cheeper seeing as there domestic. Rocker arms also fit into our heads. (i have 1 PT rocker in my valvetrain right now) ... or you could always swap yours out for hydraulic lifters :sneaky:
