Ive been tryin to figure out what exhaust I have on my car and I think I have figured out what it is, I believe it is the APEX'i WS. What do you guys think? I dont like it cause its waaay quiet and sounds very muffled, but no wonder with that monster muffler on there. I was wondering If I should just cut off that muffler and buy me a N1 muffler or something of the sort since I already have the whole cat back already.

Do you want to know what brand muffler or exhaust? Two differnt things. Just buy a new muffler that could be any brand.

Its a whole exhaust not just a muffler. A whole cat-back, it was on the car when I bought it and the place I bought it from didnt know what brand it was, neither do I, but it appears to be the APEX'i WS

looks like it could be a thermal also. take a better pic looking from under it at the back of the tip. the thermal the tip is welded on at an angle and it doesnt taper into the exhaust its almost flat across the back of the tip.

that looks kinda stock to me. i dunno about anyone else, but i don't know many aftermarket exhausts that have raw or aluminized mufflers except stock, and my dejon. but thats a big 3" bullet and 4"SS tip.

it's not apexi i don't think, all their stuff is SS. at least all the mufflers i've seen are. i don't think it's thermal, ### im pretty sure all thermals mufflers are SS too. and they have long tips on them.

i dunno, i say stock. or some new stock look alike muffler on a custom catback. espically is it sounds real muffled. just doesn't look like any "catback" i've ever seen.

how do you know it's not new stock replacement exhaust with a different style muffler?

unless it's a flowmaster or something, but those say flowmaster. and honestly, a lot of 2g's i see have single tip exhaust as stock.

i still vote for some shitty stock replacement.

measure the pipe diameter, and tip diameter. that will tell you if it's aftermarket in a heartbeat.

WTF That is a stainless muffler. Notice the polished back plate on the muffler and the red/orange color at the weld for the tip? Mild steel doesnt turn reddish color when welded, it normally turns a bluish color shortly followed by rust. And the discoloration/oxidation on the bottom is just from not being cleaned in a while.

Im not sure what exhaust it is really. It looks just like the old greddy sp exhaust I had on my old car but Im not sure. Mine had "TRUST" stamped in the bottom and most other pricey reputable manufacturers always stamp some sort of identification into either the muffler or tip. If it is Apex'i, chances are it will be stamped or engraved into the tip. Take some pics of the tip and tell us what the pipe size is so we can give you some better info.

Ok now you cant tell me THAT is some "shitty stock replacement" yea its probably a shitty no name brand, but i can fit my damn hand in the outlet. Definitely aftermarket. Now yes i am aware there is baffling shit exploding out of my muffler like a dead raccoon.

ok i agree, now calm the F down. those original pics were a little deceiving.

definately not stock. im guessing maybe some aftermarket muffler with a tip. i mist say though i've never seen that long of a outlet pipe before the tip was welded. hmmmmm. . .

im lost on this one, sorry for my "bullshit".

that might be a DYNOMAX exhaust. Thermal ALWAYS put their insignia on the top of the tip, and HKS on the side, as well as apexi. CAR-x used to install Dynomax mufflers and they had no labelss on them at all. The material was alluminum like this, and they didnt offer much for styling, hence the stock look.
2g stock mufflers had 1 or 2 tips. NT= 1 single bigger tip Turbo = 2 smaller tips
1g- NT and turbo models both had a dual small tip muffler.
Spyders NT and turbo both had a dual small tip as well.

I don't think it's an Apex-i, because if it were it should have a little metal tag spot welded on the bottom so you can see with "Apex-i and Serial#" on the metal tag.

Def.. not thermal. I have a Thermal and it looks nothing like that. My vote is for a custom exhaust made by a muffler shop with some no name brand muffler welded on.
